Hi, Master Koda Family!

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to take over your blog for the moment! I struggled with what to write, since this is the first time I have had the opportunity to be a guest blogger. With the new year, I decided to write a blog of encouragement. The twenties started off with what I call the “years of Jumanji” where each month brought on a new challenge not only to Texas, but to the U.S. as a whole! When 2021 came, it was my personal year of “level 2 of Jumanji.” Not sure about the rest of you, but I am sincerely cringing right now as to what 2022 will bring. I’m still hopeful, but hesitant. You see, 2019 brought the loss of my father. 2021 brought the loss of my mother and my husband’s service dog, and my husband having major back surgery. It also brought on hurricanes, flooding, tornadoes, and what Texans have coined, “the snowpocalypse.”

Through all of the ups and downs (and there were a lot!), there were a few consistencies – my husband was always there to hold my hand and give me a hug, and when he wasn’t I always knew God was right there beside me the whole time, and I was never alone.

For those going through things, I want to encourage you. I know not everyone believes in God, and that’s perfectly fine. I also know that has been my saving grace. Despite what life is throwing at me, that is where my strength lies. Figure out where your strength is, and center on that. No matter what is going on, dig your heels in and push forward. Whether you’re running, walking, or crawling…just keep going forward focused on your strength! You will get through it! Lord willing, 2022 will be way better than its counterparts in this decade.

In the meantime, for those who don’t know me, I’m an author, blogger, podcaster, publisher, and farmer (apiary & working toward orchard). I have 15 novels (the 16th is due out 25JAN), a novella, 2 children’s books, and I am in three anthologies. I am a multi award-winning, multi-genre author. When I write, though, it doesn’t matter what I’m writing, I write from the heart. It’s that heart that has guided me through life, and it’s my prayer that the words within the stories I write will take you on a journey you will always remember!

Our lives are a journey. Don’t let anyone else hold the pen to your story. Your life is your life. No one truly knows everything you have been through. Do the best you can with what you are given, but don’t give up! I know many take time to evaluate their lives around the new year. No matter where you are, when you continue going forward focused on your strength and your goals, you can do it. Just remember, “What’s the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.” If you want a different result, do something different! Make 2022 your year of turning around, or continue pushing forward toward your goals! You got this!

“While the stories are fiction, the journey is real.”
