Without further delay, let’s get to know Wendy and Charles!

If you could change one thing about our world, what would it be and why? For one day

I would reverse the roles of rich people and poor people so that each can see how the other half lives.

If you knew the exact date of your death down to the minute, what would you change about your life starting tomorrow?

Even if I knew the exact time of my own death I think I would pretty much live it the way I am now. I love my family and love spending time with them.

At what age were you the happiest? What triggered such joy?

We both think that we are pretty happy right now. We don’t know about “Happiest”. We have a great family and love them. So that is probably our trigger for joy.

After a difficult day what do you do to recuperate? Does it work?

For Charlie he likes to either watch some of his shows or playing Xbox live. He loves to read books as well to unwind. Yes it relaxes him. I like to lose myself in a story or just surf Facebook or watch a movie as well. Yes very well.

Why would someone like your book(s)?

They would like our books if they like fantasy and something you can walk away feeling good about reading.

How old were you when you finished your first book?

Charlie was 15 when he finished his first book and I was 42 when we finished it.

How long did it take you to write it?

4 months

What do you do to keep yourself going when you aren’t motivated?

We remember our promises to each other. I won’t give up and he won’t give up.

Bio Charles Siefken (1992-present) is a recent graduate of high school. This is his first book of many to be published. He currently resides in rural central Iowa where he enjoys reading sci/fi books and playing video games among other things. He currently works at a local auto mechanics shop and will be attending college this fall to get a degree as well. Christopher Paolini was his inspiration to become a writer.

Wendy Siefken (1966-Present) Currently working full time from home on writing stories and now a virtual assistant to those in need of an extra pair of hands online. Wendy lives on a farm with her family and enjoys reading, gardening and other activities with her family and friends. This is our first publication with many more to follow. This all started as a school project for her youngest son and business partner, Charles Siefken, which has grown into a desire to be published.

The book is a journey into the fantasy realm of what if’s. Zombies took over the world? What if werewolves were real? What if dragons were really not from earth but from another planet? I hope you enjoy this YA book. This book is ideal for a young reader who you may not want reading a book with a lot of blood and gore. This book doesn’t have that. It has a story without all the graphics of a battle.

  1. So cool! I wish I was writing books with my parent! :)) Though if it was my dad it would have to involve steam trains or motorbikes, and with my mum probably animals and coffee 🙂

    • Heh heh … My Mom edited a contemporary fiction work of mine and she couldn’t help but start re-writing it … I told her “Write your own book or let’s write one together … But this one is mine and you can’t re-write it…” … It was a truly interesting experience 🙂

  2. Great interview of a lovely ‘team’. So exciting to see a mother and son working closely together!
